Set up the weather station this week and it operates almost flawlessly with one caveat, however. The unit must be placed with full sky access in order for the rain gauge to work. The temperature sensor is not adequately protected from the ambient heat; it registers as if the sensor is in full sun. We have other available gauges placed in the shade which consistently register about 10 degrees cooler than this sensor. So - went looking for the Temperature & Humidity Solar Radiation Shield offered by Ambient to solve this problem. Available only thru Ambient, not Amazon, and the unit costs $[...] PLUS $[...] for shipping. Thus a $[...] weather station becomes $[...] if you want an accurate temperature. Looks as if I'll still need two gauges.
